What we collect
- Account data — name, email and profile photo from your Google or Facebook sign-in. We never see your passwords; there are no local passwords on this platform. Your email address is used only to send the verification codes, safety alerts and service messages you have chosen in your channel settings — never for marketing, never sold, and never shared with anyone beyond the provider that delivers the message on our behalf.
- WhatsApp number — collected at registration, used exclusively to deliver safety alerts and service messages. Never used for marketing, never sold.
- Places you save — named locations and alert radii you choose, used only to decide which alerts to send you.
- Reports you submit — category, description, location and optional phone number, shared with the reviewing agency. Anonymous reporting (where offered) stores no identity with the report.
- Location — on the website, the map may request your device location to centre the view and to place report pins; it is used in-page and for the coordinates you submit. In the mobile app, and only after you enrol in the setup wizard, your phone also reports its position while the app is closed so that proximity alerts can reach you. Those positions are kept for 24 hours and then erased; they are never sold or shared with other people, and you can pause sensing with one tap.
- Motion state (mobile app) — with your permission the app receives a simple signal from your phone saying whether it is still, on foot or in a vehicle. It is used on the device only to decide how often to check location — not at all while still, which is what saves battery. It is not health or fitness data: it is not stored, not shown to you as activity, and not shared with anyone.
Automated (AI) processing
Submitted reports are automatically screened by an AI service to assess credibility, suggest tags and detect spam ("Auto-checked"). AI never makes final negative decisions alone: agencies and moderators can always override, and sanctions are issued by humans. Confidence scores are shown transparently on each report.
Retention & your rights
- Published safety reports are retained as public-safety history; when you delete your account they are anonymised, not fabricated or erased.
- You can download all your data and delete your account from your Account page (see Data Deletion). Deletion has a 30-day grace period, then personal data is permanently removed.
- Audit logs of consequential actions are retained for accountability.
